Press release – Paris, February 1, 2022.

Smart – the independent ad monetization platform – announced today that it has been selected as a member of the French Tech 120, the French national program that brings together the most innovative and fastest-growing technology companies. Smart was selected based on its hypergrowth over the past 3 years and has been recognized for its international expansion. With the goal of providing advertisers and publishers with independent, transparent, and efficient advertising solutions, Smart is proud to join this prestigious “index of French startups” which gathers all the French technological champions such as Alan, Back Market, Deezer, and Doctolib.

On February 1st, the government unveiled the 120 companies included in the 2022 edition of the French Tech 120. Created in 2019, the French Tech 120 aims to support the French Tech ecosystem by accelerating the development of high-potential companies. Established on objective criteria of growth or fundraising, this unique national program offers privileged access to more than 50 ministries, government agencies, and public services. As one of the most promising companies in the French ecosystem, Smart will benefit from increased support from the French government to help it meet the challenges of innovation, talent recruitment, and international expansion.

Arnaud Créput, CEO of Smart, stated:

“Integrating the FT 120 is a great honor for Smart and all of our teams. We are thrilled to be recognized for the relevance of our positioning against tech giants and the progress we have made over the last 3 years. The support of our investor Capital Croissance, the recent acquisitions of DynAdmic and LiquidM, as well as rapid expansion abroad – notably in the United States and Asia Pacific – have allowed us to accelerate our growth. We are very pleased to be part of this prestigious program and delighted to be among the technology companies that are spreading French excellence around the world.”

After a record year in 2021 and the tripling of its size in three years, Smart is aiming for the €100 million net revenue threshold in 2022.  This is a major milestone for the French adtech company and its 450 employees in 14 offices around the world. They aim to become the largest independent ad monetization platform – with 85% of its revenues generated outside of France and 40% in the US.

In a more mature, fragmented, and controlled digital advertising market, Smart provides media buyers and publishers with innovative and effective tools to regain control of their advertising activities, while ensuring data privacy and operational efficiency on both sides of the value chain. Smart continues to develop solutions that will enable both supply and demand-side players to adapt to new media consumption habits and new devices, such as connected TV, and to prepare for structural changes in the digital advertising industry, such as targeting without third-party cookies and the consent economy.
